Army Reserve Pvt. Kyler M. Wortham has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

 

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Wortham is the son of Shane Wortham of Henderson, Nev., and Kalyn Turnbull of Moses Lake, Wash. He is a 2009 graduate of Skyview High School.

Events, wedding, engagement and birth submissions may not be older than six months. Wedding anniversary announcements are printed in five-year increments beginning with the 20th.

If your group or organization has a photo of an event to share, submit the photo and the following information for print: Who took the photo, who’s in it, when and where it was taken, a brief description of what’s happening, and a name and phone number in case we have questions.
