Strong man to speak at Kalifonsky Christian Center

 

Steve Carrier, recorded in the Guinness Book of World Record by breaking 30 bats over his thigh in 53 seconds, will be sharing in the schools Monday through Wednesday as well presenting at Kalifonsky Christian Center in the evening, November 17-21. See Steve Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., and Monday-Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend. Kalifonsky Christian Center located at Mile 17 Kalifornsky Beach Road.

Missions to benefit from Christmas Bazaar

Lutheran Women’s Missionary League members and members from the South Alaska Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are hosting a Christmas Bazaar to help mission projects locally, nationally and internationally. The activity will be held Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Star of the North Lutheran Church, 216 North Forest Drive in Kenai.

Baked goods and craft items will be available for sale to provide funds for mission projects. Past donations have been given to LeeShore Center, Kenai Peninsula Community Care Center, Lutheran World Relief, Concordia College, Concordia Seminary, Habitat for Humanity and others. Members distribute all funds to help those less fortunate.

Pentecostal Church plans Fall Festival

The Sterling Pentecostal Church is sponsoring a Fall Festival on November 15 at the Sterling Community Center. It will be a fun time for the kids with games, prizes, candy, and food. The activities begin at 3:30 p.m. and will continue to 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome for a fun family night.

Apostolic Assembly prepares cookie boxes

It’s Christmas cookie planning time again for the Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ Church. Assorted Christmas cookies will be for sale by pre-order only. The cost is $5 per dozen. Orders of 20 dozen or more are $4 per dozen. Call Liz at 262-5525, or Diane at 262-1714 by December 5 to place your cookie order. Cookies will be ready for pick-up or delivery on December 11. The number of orders that can be filled is limited, so call soon.

Time for Cookies Buy the Pound

Our Lady of the Angles Catholic Church in Kenai will hold a craft bazaar in conjunction with its Cookies Buy the Pound event on Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Dec. 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. To rent or reserve a craft table, call Lori at 907-283-3315. To volunteer, call Mary at 907-252-4942.
