Brian and Melanie Imholte of Soldotna announce the birth of their son, Paxton Bodie Imholte. Paxton was born at 8:31 a.m. on December 31 at Central Peninsula Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds, 1.8 ounces and measured 20 1/2 inches. His grandparents are Ralph and Judy Imholte and Dave and Sharon Keating, all of Soldotna.


Air Force Airman D’Angelo A. Cloud graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Cloud is the son of Nikki and Tony Cloud of Kenai. He is a 2012 graduate of Kenai Central High School.

Several central Kenai Peninsula students have been named to the Dean’s List at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. Full-time students who rank in the top 10 percent of their class for the semester and earn a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale are eligible for the Dean’s List.

■ Lela Walker, of Clam Gulch, a fourth-year in the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions;

■ Carolyn Kiefer, of Kenai, a sophomore in the College of Nursing;

■ Samantha Navarre, of Kenai, a freshman in the College of Nursing;

■ Hannah Thompson, of Kenai, a first-year in the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions;

■ Trisha Trujillo, of Soldotna, a third-year in the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions.

Erica Beth Byerley of Sterling, a senior in chemical engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Mo., has been named to the honor list for the 2013 Fall semester. Honor list recipients must have carried a minimum of 12 hours and had grade point averages of 3.2 or better.

Phoebe Napolitano of Kenai was named to Dean’s List for the fall 2013 semester at Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y.

Alexi “Lexi” Beeson, a graduate of Kenai Central High School, has been named to the Fall 2013 Dean’s List at Austin College in Sherman, Texas. The Dean’s List recognizes the top 20 percent of students taking a minimum of three graded, full-credit courses each term based on the grade point average for that term. For Fall Term 2013, the Dean’s List recognizes 250 individuals who earned a semester grade point average of at least 3.675 on a 4.0 scale.

Kati Dutcher of Soldotna has been named to Fall Dean’s List at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. To be selected, students must have at least a 3.6 grade point average on a 4.0 scale with at least 12 graded hours and be in good standing with the university.
