4-Hers fare well at Public Presentation Contest

4-H is about helping prepare youth to be successful adults. One of the many ways this is achieved is through our Public Presentation Contest held every year. The children are in charge of choosing their presentation topic, what type of presentation it is, and how they are going to present it. Next the children will give their presentations in front of a panel of judges, who score them. The first contest level is when the children compete against children from the same district. The winners of the district contest go onto the state contest. At this level the children compete with other children from throughout the state.

The results of the Kenai Peninsula District 4-H participants at the 2016 Alaska State Public Presentation Contest are:

— Jenna Carpenter: Junior Illustrated Talk, Champion

— Corey Lewis: Junior Drama, Champion

— Colton Rankin: Intermediate Illustrated Talk, Champion

— Elora Reichert: Intermediate Illustrated Talk, Reserve Champion

— Cierra Mitchel: Senior Illustrated Talk, Champion

— Elora Reichert, Gracie Rankin, Colton Rankin: Team Illustrated Talk, Champion

Congratulations to our 4-H presenters! We are very proud of them.
