Soldotna Christ Lutheran Church to install new pastor

The Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna will host an installation for Pastor Meredith Harber and communion service on Sunday at 11:30 a.m., followed by a celebration from 12:30-2 p.m at the church at Mile 1/4 on the Kenai Spur Highway in Soldotna.

Craft bazaar coming up

Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church will host its annual craft bazaar from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. today and Saturday at 225 South Spruce Street in Kenai, across from the Kenai Little League fields.

Blessing of the Animals Sunday

St. Francis by the Sea and Our Lady of the Angels will host a Blessing and Appreciation of the Animals from 1:30-4 p.m. Sunday.Animals of any kind are welcome. The Blessing will take place at St. Francis by the Sea on South Spruce Street in Kenai. Parking, coffee, hospitality and treats for the animals will be available. All are welcome!

New drop-off center for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child delivers shoeboxes full of gifts, and school supplies, and hygiene items to boys and girls around the world who may never receive another gift in their life. To participate, all you need is a standard sized shoe box, a trip to the store and a loving and giving heart. Beginning this year, First Baptist Church of Kenai is the official drop-off location for the Kenai area. Catholic Church to hold RCIA classes for Inquirers

Classes for anyone interested in the Catholic Church will be held each Wednesday evening at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Soldotna. The classes will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Church Community Room. During the school year those attending will learn about the teaching of the Church based on the teachings of Jesus to His disciples. There is also a daily prayer book to help guide you to a closer relationship with the Lord. This process is called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). Calvary Baptist starts Awana Club

Calvary Baptist Church invites all children 3 years old through sixth grade to Awana Kids Club, Sundays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Kenai Middle School. Visit calvarykenai.org/awana for details and schedule.

Soldotna Food Pantry open weekly

The Soldotna Food Pantry is open every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for residents in the community who are experiencing food shortages. The Food Pantry is located at the Soldotna United Methodist Church at 158 South Binkley Street, and all are welcome. Non-perishable food items or monetary donations may be dropped off at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or on Sunday from 9 a.m. until noon. United Methodist Church food pantry

The Kenai United Methodist Church provides a food pantry for those in need every Monday from noon to 3 p.m. The Methodist Church is located on the Kenai Spur Highway next to the Boys and Girls Club. The entrance to the Food Pantry is through the side door. The Pantry closes for holidays. For more information contact the church office at 907-283-7868.

Clothes Quarters open weekly

Clothes Quarters at Our Lady of the Angels Church is open every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the first Saturday of every month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call 907-283-4555.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help sets a place at the table

A Place at the Table, a new outreach ministry of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Soldotna continues to offer a hot meal and fellowship, and blood pressure checks to anyone interested. The meal is every fourth Sunday of the month, from 4-6 p.m. at Fireweed Hall, located on campus at 222 West Redoubt Avenue, Soldotna.

The Abundant Life Assembly of God church, Sterling, will be joining us in this ministry and providing a hot meal on the second Sunday of the month also, at 4-6 p.m. at Fireweed.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help would like to invite other churches who would like to join this ministry, to perhaps pick up one of the other Sunday evenings in the month. Please call for information: 262-5542.

Clothes 4 U at First Baptist Church Soldotna

First Baptist Church Soldotna Clothes 4 U, located at Binkley and Little streets, is open on the second and fourth Saturday each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Clothes and shoes are free to the public.

‘Celebrate Recovery’ at Peninsula Grace Brethren

Celebrate Recovery meets each Wednesday, from 6:30-8 p.m., at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church, 44175 Kalifornsky Beach Road, Soldotna, upstairs in room 8 in the worship center. Celebrate Recovery is a Biblically based 12-step program that provides a safe place to share your hurts, habits and hang-ups, in a Christ-centered recovery atmosphere. Divorce recovery seminar offered

DivorceCare divorce recovery seminar and support group meets at Kenai NewLife Assembly of God each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The church is located at 209 Princess Street in Kenai. DivorceCare features nationally recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics.
