What's happening at the Kenai Senior Center for the month of September 2014 (all activities are held at the Kenai Senior Center unless otherwise stated):
■ Open weekdays through September 18 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
As of September 1, the weekend Mass Schedule will change for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 222 West Redoubt Avenue, Soldotna. On Saturday, Reconciliation will be available from 4:15-4:45 p.m.; and Vigil Mass at 5 p.m.
One day in July became increasingly challenging. First, the water pump in the well was producing only a trickle. Then the fuse on the nearby transformer pole blew, cutting off power to our house.
No water, no power.
■ The Kenai and Soldotna Chambers of Commerce will host a joint luncheon at noon on Sept. 3 at the Kenai Visitors Center. A forum with candidates for Kenai Peninsula Borough Mayor is planned. RSVP to 262-9814 or 283-1991.
