One day in July became increasingly challenging. First, the water pump in the well was producing only a trickle. Then the fuse on the nearby transformer pole blew, cutting off power to our house. No water, no power.

I may be the last person in the world to use a Thesaurus. I love that book, even more than the dictionary, which no one uses anymore either. The smart phone has replaced just about everything these days, including one's brain.
