Clothes ministry ongoing
The Clothes 4 U Ministry offers free clothing to benefit the community. The ministry is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at First Baptist Church Soldotna Mission House. Clothes 4 U accepts clothing donations only. For more information, call 262-4304.

Baptist church hosts club for kids
Calvary Baptist Church invites community kids to participate in our Awana Kids Club. Children from age 3 up through 6th grade are welcome to join us on Sunday evenings at Kenai Middle School for games, songs, lessons and bible memory verses. Visit for more details, or call CBC at 283-4781.

Study, fellowship, worship opportunities
Saint Luke Lutheran Church offers several faith strengthening opportunities during the week. The parish’s Wednesday 10:30 a.m. fellowship/study is focusing on Numbers. Soldotna Day Aglow meetings scheduled
Soldotna Day Aglow will meet every Wednesday at Peninsula Christian Center in Soldotna. Coffee and fellowship at 9:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m. worship, teaching and prayer, babysitting provided. More information contact Judy Risung 283-3534.

Luthern church hosts Oktoberfest
Join us at Grace Lutheran Church on Friday, October 28 from 6-8 p.m. for the Annual Oktoberfest. Enjoy crafts and games, contests and prizes. Have a brat or a cup of soup and wash it down in the root beer garden. Costumes are welcome (but nothing scary please). Everything is free and it’s sure to be lots of fun for kids of all ages. Catholic churches change schedules
The Catholic Churches in both Kenai and Soldotna will have changes in their weekend Mass schedules.  These will be implemented on the upcoming weekend of October 1/2.  The changes are as follows: Saturday Mass:  Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Soldotna,  4 p.m. with Reconciliation at 3:15 -3:45p.m. Saturday Mass:  Our Lady of the Angels, Kenai;  6 p.m. Mass with Reconciliation at 5:15-5:45 p.m. Sunday Mass: Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Soldotna: 9 a.m., Our Lady of the Angels, Kenai; 10:30 a.m.

Clothes Quarters open weekly
Clothes Quarters, at Our Lady of the Angels Church is open every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 283-4555 for more information.

New children’s program offered
Abundant Life Church, Mile 81, Sterling Highway, is offering an exciting new mid-week program for kids up to 6th grade. “Children of Destiny” meets every Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. There is no cost to attend.

Soldotna methodist church hosts events
Soldotna United Methodist Church’s Wacky Wednesdays in God’s word for children ages 4 through 5th grade begins September 7 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. each Wednesday. Soldotna United Methodist is also offering the “Love and Respect” Marriage Course starting Wednesday, September 7th from 4:30-5:30 p.m. For more information, please contact Kristen at 953-1979.

New Catholicism classes to start in October
