The second Friday Dialogue event of the spring semester will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 24 in KRC's McLane Commons.

The dialogue will focus on the Occupy Movement and the Tea Party, addressing the following questions: Do they have similar concerns? Is there an action plan that both can buy into?

This Friday Dialogue will be presented by the KRC Student Union and Sustainability Club, in conjunction with the Roundtable: Center for Mediation and Community Dialogue.

This event is free and the public is welcome to attend. An optional potluck will begin at 6:30 p.m.

School board to meet
The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Board of Education meets at 7 p.m. at 148 N. Binkley Street in Soldotna (unless otherwise noted).

Because of increased usage and safety concerns, administrators at KPC, the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District and Alaska Christian College have come together  asking the state legislature to support and fund a capital construction project that would extend and light the paved path along Poppy Lane to the intersection of College Road. The current paved path ends in front of K-Beach Elementary. In addition, the Kenai Peninsula College Council has adopted a resolution in support of the project.

The spring semester is fully underway at KPC’s Kenai River Campus but there are a number of courses that are still available for registration. These late starting classes are open up until the first day the class is held.
