The next link on the page will take viewers to the Online Volunteer Training for those who were unable to attend the in-house training last week. These two steps must be completed each school year in order to volunteer at Kaleidoscope. Volunteers make all the difference and are very appreciated!

The school year is off to a great start! If families have questions about bussing, lunch money, or schedules please call the office at 283-8600. If families need to make changes to their child’s bus route or after school routine, staff ask that parents call before 2:30 p.m.
There is no school on Monday, Sept. 5.
The first PTA meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. in the Library.
All Mountain View students will be dismissed at 1:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14. This early release day allows grade level teachers to begin collaborating early in the afternoon and then continue after normal release time as part of their scheduled staff meeting time.

Staff want to say ‘Welcome back!’ School is in full swing as August comes to a close. Nikiski Middle High School welcomes several new staff members this year: Joetta Wolff, Mariah Vraniak, Mark Smith, Paul Nelson, Dave Hernandez, and Samantha Playle. There will be an Open House on Tuesday, Aug. 30 when parents will have the opportunity to meet these new members of our community.

It has been a great start to the new school year!
The first PTA meeting of the year is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 1. The meeting will be held in the staff lounge beginning at 3:45 p.m.
Mark calendars for volunteer training that will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 7 in the school library. This is a very important training that will enable everyone to be able to help out in the school.
There will not be school on Monday, Sept. 5 for the Labor Day holiday.
School pictures are scheduled for Friday, Sept. 9 in the library. Sibling pictures will be taken at 3:30 p.m. If families need more information, please call the school office at 776-2600.
Welcome back to school, the staff hopes everyone had a safe and restful summer.
Parents, it is important that everyone maintain current and correct contact information for all students. If families have any updates or changes would like to make please stop by or call the school office to make those changes.
Free and reduced lunch program applications along with other important forms and information will be sent home with students the first week of school. Please be sure to complete all applicable forms and return them to the school as soon as possible.
School supply lists are available online at the KPBSD web site, in the front entry way of the school, at Fred Myers and Wal-Mart.
As a reminder, all new students to the KPBSD must have a current (within one year) student physical on file with the school office. Please contact the school nurse for additional information.
