"The Study" opens for tutoring in Soldotna...

To study or not to study is not the question, but to get special help to sharpen those academic, artistic, or even culinary skills at "The Study" is now the answer.  Kerri Nelson, formerly of Cook Inlet Academy has opened the new tutoring center to help meet educational needs on the Kenai Peninsula, "The Study is a group of educators offering just about whatever you might need academically through educational work shops, private tutoring, beginning piano lessons and everything from a variety of elementary level subjects to upper level math classes," says Nelson, whose mother-in-law known as Grandma Mart can even teach you how to whip up a batch of homemade cookies in the kitchen at The Study.  "Here at The Study we understand that students learn differently and we are here to help whether it's simple math, geometry or algebra, and even SAT prep.  Many times kiddos need one on one help that isn't available in the big school large classroom setting, or a home school parent needs assistance from a certified teacher or the benefits of a small group setting.  The Study offers all that and is a place where the kiddos feel welcome and go home knowing they can do it," added Nelson.

According to Nelson many home school students registered with Connections or Idea may have funds available for tutoring services through their allotments that can assist with the costs of some of the workshops which can have dynamic results, "Workshops like Mastery of Multiplication is priceless because it's foundational to division, conversions, and fractions, so mastering many of those skills through our workshops can be priceless for the future accomplishments of the student.  We offer educational workshops for a variety of grade levels as well as one on one tutoring with skilled teachers," she said.  The Study also offers tutoring punch cards, "For private tutoring we offer something like a punch card that bundles tutoring sessions so if you do 5 you get one session free or if you do 10 you get two free that helps keep the costs reasonable for the family and can help keep students caught up if they're running a little behind due to over commitment to athletics or time missed due to illness," explained Nelson.

"This is just a very happy place to be and we look forward to meeting you and helping you with all your educational needs," said Kerri.
