Terra Hansen and Carol Sheldon are business owners who are making a difference in helping people with skin care issues. Both have partnered with the creators of ProActiv, Stanford trained Dr's Katy Rodan and Kathy Fields in their new direct selling skin care company, Rodan and Fields Dermatologists. Terra became Alaska's first Rodan + Fields leader in December of 2010, "I was excited to bring this to Alaska by way of a friend in Alabama. It made sense to have the products available locally where they don't have to wait for a doctor's appointment. I thought it would be an incredible addition to our Alaskan community to offer accessible medical grade products that help solve common skin concerns. Our doctors are well respected, have a proven track record in business and I have personally seen results and felt obligated to tell others," explained Hansen.
Soon after hearing about the business and trying the products, Carol Sheldon joined her team and has become one of the top producers in Alaska. "Our products are different because they have been developed by dermatologists and contain the most peptides of any other product on the market. One of the most rewarding things about being a consultant is seeing my customer's results. Recently, a mother of a teenager with acne called to thank me for introducing her to the products. Her daughter's skin has cleared up and she has greater self-confidence. Another customer was asked if she had 'work done' after using the anti-age regimen! I love helping people find solutions to their skin issues," said Sheldon.
"Doctor's Rodan and Fields have already received major media coverage from the "Today Show" and recently were on the cover of Allure Magazine. In addition, Allure Magazine nominated the company for the "Best in Beauty Award," one of the most prestigious awards given out by the beauty industry. According to Sheldon Rodan and Fields (R+F) are at the forefront of clinical skincare, providing real and visible results. "Our company is founded on the mission to bring dermatology to the home. The R+F brand provides solutions for everyday skincare issues and targets them with clinical regimens designed to take the guesswork out of skin treatments. We offer FDA-compliant, clinically proven skincare regimens designed to treat sun damage, aging skin, effects of rosacea and eczema, and acne/post-acne marks," she said.
Hansen says one of the latest tools that was recently featured on the Today Show is a new high tech device, "Our newest and most exciting product is a device called the AMP-MD which is a micro-needling tool designed to be used on the face and neck. It works in two ways, first by making small painless micro-injuries or channels to the tissue forcing the body to react by making collagen, which in turn fills fine lines and wrinkles and smoothes the skin. Secondly, it provides a pathway for the retinol and peptide serum to reach the deeper tissues, in essence putting the medicine where it needs to be in order to work. It is an affordable alternative to more expensive and invasive procedures."
