Health North Family Medicine and Alaska Weight Loss Institute have relocated their practice from Sterling to Soldotna and are enjoying a new spacious clinic in the Alaska Maxi Storage mall on the Kenai Spur Highway. “We really like our new location, we have a lot more room and is much more accessible for patient care and closer to the major population of the Central Peninsula which will be more convenient for our patients,” says Dr. Rod Hall the owner of Health North Family Medicine who has been practicing medicine since 1996. Dr. Hall moved to Alaska in 1999 and has been practicing family medicine and urgent care since 2004.
Health North Family Medicine is a family practice medical clinic that currently has on staff, one M.D., one Physicians Assistant (PA) and an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) as well as 6 medical assistants. They have offices in Soldotna, Anchorage, Wasilla and Fairbanks and bill most insurances except for Medicare. “Family practice is growing in scope and we typically say that we for children from cradle to grave meaning young and old alike doing everything from physicals for children as well sports physicals to anything for adults at any age from blood pressure to diabetes and any care issues they might have and we do our own lab work which expedites test results. We’re the place to come to first for your primary care because your family physician is the one who knows you and your medical history what your doing and have been doing and can tell whether you need to see a specialist or is something that can be taken care of simply and easily right here,” said Dr. Hall.
Wade Thomas is the Chief Operations Officer for Health North Family Medicine and handles the, “My job is to handle be sure we have the best staff to serve our patients and today there is a lot of accounting, insurance collections and paper work in the health care industry and I take care of that end of things so the doctor can spend his time treating the patients. Walk-ins are welcome here, we have more space now and can better accommodate folks that need to see us right away and don’t want to wait for an appointment. Staff at the Soldotna Clinic also includes Connie Dunham, General Manager, Audrey Slats, Office Manager, Brooke Jackson-Front desk and Kim Rodgers-MA.
The Health North Family Medicine clinic in Soldotna is open Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5:30pm. At all their locations they provide the Dr. Prescribed HCG Weight Loss program and also carry many weight loss products. At the Soldotna clinic after hour’s non-emergent care is also available and in the summer they stay busy after hours for fish hook removals. “We have a great group of dedicated staff, starting with the front desk all the way through to the billing staff that is willing to go the extra mile to tend to all our patients medical needs.
