For a truly great hair day take a ride on the Sterling Highway to mile 81.5 and turn into Carol’s Sterling Shears. “I love my new shop and I’m ready to give you a good hair day any day you want to come by and look your very best,” she says. Carol specializes in cuts of all kinds for men and women, kids and teens and has over 25 years of experience as a hair stylist. “It’s hairy but I love it and I love the people I get to make beautiful, that’s why I’m here and why I do what I do. No matter your daily stress you’ll leave it all behind after a scalp massage and a new hair style. I opened Sterling Shears because I felt there was a need for a salon here in the Sterling area as well as my loyal clients who don’t mind taking the scenic drive out here for a little break in their daily routine,” says Carol.
Carol has become very popular for her consultations and specialty hair for weddings, homecomings, proms or any special event that calls for a specialty hairdo, “I also love the baby’s first cut and we go out of our way to make it a memorable experience for the family,” she told the Dispatch. When it comes to a new look Carol is amazing with braids, “I do a root braid, it’s a take off of a French braid however I don’t have the plat overlapping its just twisted and turned into a uniquely beautiful braid that reminds me of the roots of tree. I can do each side differently one style on the left and another on the right and that way we can add things to it like feathers, beads and bling to get just as fancy or creative as you want. Just come on by and while appointments are recommended we’ll make them for early or late at your convenience and I welcome walk-ins so if you’re on your way to Anchorage for special night out and want hair to match the occasion just “Turn hair” at mile 81.5 and we’ll be sure to get it done the way you like it,” said Carol. Sterling Shears is open daily starting at 11:00am and is closed Monday and Tuesday. For an appointment just call Carol at Sterling Shears 262-HAIR (4247).
