Stewart Title of the Kenai Peninsula, a second generation Alaskan family owned title company has moved to a new location across from Sweeney’s on the Kenai Spur Hwy in Soldotna. Chris Hough’s father was a real estate attorney in Homer some forty years ago and saw a need for a title company in the local area, “So he and a partner started Kachemak Bay Title in Homer which was very successful and I grew up in the business and then nine years ago we expanded into the Central Peninsula under the name Stewart Title of the Kenai Peninsula and now are happy to be in our new location,” Hough told the Dispatch during their holiday open house last week. Chris explained that title insurance is a process and a product, the product is an insurance policy that says that you are the owner of your home or property free and clear, the process is what happens to clear up any liens or potential claims that might exist on the property, “So anytime someone buys, sells, or refinances a piece of property they’re likely to utilized the services of a title company like ours. At Stewart Title of the Kenai Peninsula we are proud to be Alaskans. We are entirely owned by Peninsula residents - each with over 25 years of title experience in Alaska. We are underwritten by Stewart Title Guaranty Company, a century old company with a tradition of excellence in every U.S. state and many foreign countries. The result is a local company with the ability and resources to handle any sized transaction,” he said.
The third generation of Alaskan Hough’s are already growing up in the business Chris’s wife Sarah is proud to say, “I’ll encourage them to follow their dreams whatever that might be but if they’d like to work here someday they’ll have our full support. What I like best about this business is our customers, I’m such a people person and I love being able to get out in our small community and working face to face with folks while doing business with them. So if you are buying, selling, or refinancing real estate on the Kenai Peninsula please keep us in mind. Remember that you do have a choice when selecting a title and escrow company. It would be our pleasure to earn you business,” said Sarah.
According to Sarah over 100 folks turned out for their holiday office warming at their new location where Southcentral Title agency used to be located and right next door to the Daily Buzz Coffee Shop. “But if you were unable to make it during the busy holiday season, come by for a cup of coffee during the new year and let’s get acquainted. Penny Furnish, Cassie Lawyver, Chris and I are here to serve you at Stewart Title of the Kenai Peninsula.” You can call them at 260-8031.
