First American Title holds open house at new location

Posted: January 21, 2013 - 11:37am  |  Updated: January 23, 2013 - 4:12pm

New offices, new location, same friendly faces and excellent service at First American Title in Soldotna. Deb Moore, formerly with First American in Kenai is now the statewide marketing manager for First American Title and at their recent open house she explained the merger, “Two excellent Title and Escrow Companies, First American Title and South Central Title, both serving the Soldotna and Kenai areas merged their operations into one organization. They were both underwritten by First American Title Insurance Company for approximately ten years but combined forces and now operate under the First American Title name. The merger allowed us to consolidate our operations into a single location next to the Peninsula Center Mall across from Subway on the Sterling Hwy, in Soldotna. This single location has not only brought about a new set of efficiencies it also allows us to enhance our efforts toward an ever increasing level of customer service,” she said.

For many years folks in the community have grown to know and trust the friendly escrow officers such as Nichole Smith and Keri Hiler so it was good to learn that only the name South Central Title had gone away, “Unlike traditional business models of consolidating and reducing staff and ultimately consumer choice, First American Title has committed to maintaining their entire team of professionals. This commitment allows us to provide that ever increasing level of customer service which the home owners and real estate community of the Peninsula expect and deserve. First American Title maintains Kenai Peninsula offices in Homer and Seward as well as in 5 other locations throughout Alaska,” explained Moore.

With everything under one roof First American’s title plant has records going back to statehood, “The records are kept in various mediums from hand written documents of the time, that are very interesting to microfilm, microfiche and of course now everything is done electronically so when we need to search property we have various resources available to us right here in our title plant,” said Moore. A large turn out came to the new offices of First American Title for an open house that featured delicious appetizers and beverages, “It was great to welcome the public, realtors and builders and so many friends we have done business with in the past and we look forward to working with them in the future,” said Nichole Smith.
