Tina Taylor grew up in Nikiski and has been making women and men beautiful on the Kenai Peninsula for nearly a quarter of a century. Her first shop was located in the corner space at the Soldotna Bowling Alley where she offered $10.00 walk-in haircuts and six months later moved to The Tides restaurant located at the Soldotna Bridge more recently known as The Crossing. Nine years later she moved her shop next to JoAnn Fabrics where she made national news for having a salon with a drive-through window. (A client put her foot on the gas rather than the brake when coming for her appointment and drove right through her plate glass window store front.) She then moved to the cement block building next to the Kenai River Brewery where she remodeled a beautiful décor, but three years later had to move again and this time did a make over next to Chez Moi at the “Y” intersection. Then last week Tina once again opened a totally remodeled Salon on the Sterling Highway with an ocean view between the Grand Burrito and Napa Auto Parts, “It’s our final destination! The good owner of this mall has given us a ten year lease so we can count on this being our final destination. That sounds so nice I’ll say it again this is our final destination,” Tina told the Dispatch.

“I’m doing the kids hair of the kids whose hair I did for prom when I got started, but I’m not counting years, however I’ve had my professional license since 1988 and have been busy ever since the day I started making people more beautiful on the Peninsula from Homer to Seward and everywhere in between, I enjoy my job very much and I love the people of the Peninsula,” says Tina. Tina’s Hair Pros includes four stylists and a professional nail tech offering facial waxing and skin care, color weaves and highlights, tans, perms and facials and all with an ocean view, “We are a full service family salon and in our final destination we offer a view of palm trees, ocean breezes, sea shells and South Pacific beach fantasies, we’ll even let you put some sand in your toes at no extra charge,” she says. For an appointment with Tina or any of the Hair Pros call 262-4082 or stop by and say Aloha at the new and final destination of Tina Hair Pros in Soldotna on the Sterling Highway between the Grand Burrito and Napa.
