It’s been a great summer for Bishop’s Attic at their new location across from CES and Carrs/Safeway in Soldotna. “We have a lot more room here and it’s all wheel chair accessible, we’ve had a great summer and the people here are simply great to work with,” says store manager LeeAnn Barenz. For the last twenty years Bishop’s Attic has provided a variety of clothes, furniture, appliances and other goods for the community explained board member David Carey, “We receive donations from folks that donate quality clothes and merchandise and that allows us to help out folks that don’t have a whole lot or are in an economic struggle as well as those getting out of prison who receive tokens they can use at the store to help them get a new start. People are victims of house fires or other emergencies that happen in their life we are here to help those individuals,” he said.
Bishop’s Attic now has a secure drop off location, “We have an after hours shed at the right of the building where folks can drop off merchandise and we’ll process it or during the day they can drop off things around the back in the fenced in area,” said Barenz.
According to Carey the former location didn’t have a secure area, “We were having vandalism problems at the back of our former location but now being across from the police and fire station and a fenced area we have people using our location for consignment articles and as always we are looking for all different ways we can serve the community.
New things come in every day so come on in,” he said. As a special this month at Bishop’s Attic all pet fish supplies are 35 per cent to 45 per cent off. Bishop’s Attic is open 10:00am – 6:00pm Monday-Saturday.
