For the last decade Soldotna born and Nikiski High School graduate Dr. Brandi Heath, DC has built a vibrant practice located on the Kenai Spur Hwy in Soldotna across from Beemun’s Variety and know as Phormation Chiropractic & Day Spa. Then seemingly overnight the clinic vanished, but not to worry as finding the new Phormation Chiropractic and Dr. Heath is a lot easier than finding Nemo. Just continue down the Spur Hwy toward Kenai about a mile and a half and you’ll see the beautiful new clinic right next to Alaska Bolt & Chain. “When I graduated from Nikiski I really had no idea what I was going to do, but like many kids born and raised here I wanted to leave the state for my college so I took my undergrad at Oregon State and earned my degree then worked in the field for two years and decided I needed to find something I really wanted to do. Then during an interview for a job at a Chiropractor’s office the doctor noticed I had gone along a similar path as she had gave me a book on Chiropractic medicine and from that time on I knew what I wanted to do. I earned my degree and ten years ago opened my practice in Soldotna,” Dr. Heath told the Dispatch in an interview.
According to Brandi the word Phormation is a play on words, “My sister and I made it up, she’s our accountant and office manager. The PH is for physical and we change things from the inside out and put the skeletal system in the proper form putting the body in its correct formation so to speak,” she explained. At the new Phormation Chiropractic Clinic December is being tagged “donating December” and each patient gets a chance to participate. “Every patient that visits during the month will get a marble that can be put in a jar of their choice of three charities that we are highlighting in December. They are the Peninsula Spay and Neuter Fund, Students in Transitions program sponsored by the KPBSD and the Central Peninsula Health Foundation to assist local breast cancer patients. Our receptionist Cindy is a cancer survivor so those will be the three and this is a great chance for us to give back because we will be matching all contributions received during December,” explained Dr. Heath.
The new Phormation Clinic has a full staff that includes three licensed massage therapists and Rebecca Sorenson who is a certified Rolfer and our receptionist who keeps us all on target is Cindy Gray. “We’ve worked to make the new Phormation a very warm and welcoming atmosphere and we’re very thankful for our new location and invite everyone to come in, visit and discuss any health problems you may be experiencing. So we give thanks in November, and then share in December. Our goal is to help you feel better from the inside out,” said Dr. Heath. Phormation is located on the Spur Hwy across from the Lucky Raven tobacco store.
