Connecting your car with the pros at Auto Knechtion

AK may mean Alaska to the post office but to anyone in need of auto repairs or maintenance on the Peninsula it means Auto Knechtion on K-Beach Rd. Getting connected with owner and auto technician Scott Houseknecht is as easy as dialing 260-5444 or stopping by their extensive shop across from Save U More where CARTS use to be located. With over 30 years of engine repair Scott says he’ll work on any rig, “Anything, cars, trucks, 4-wheelers, foreign or domestic, diesel or gas, we work on it all,” he says. Houseknecht came to Alaska 8 years ago after working in New York the rest of his life, “Helping people get back on the road and eliminating their stress is the best part of this business. If folks do regular check-ups on their vehicles and preventative maintenance goes a long way in saving you a break down. Having your oil changed at least once a year and having a general inspection can save a lot of time and money in the long run and save you the stress and inconvenience of a break down,” said Scott.

The Auto Knechtion has been open since January of 2012 and have kept rigs rolling with over 300,000 miles on them. AK has 6 employees to serve you and meet your auto repair needs, “We have 3 auto techs with 20 years plus experience, we’re ready to help keep you on the road and we do it all. Solving the big problems like electrical issues that others have given up on is what makes my day,” said Scott. AK gives free consultations and estimates, “I would hate to see someone put a couple thousand dollars into a vehicle that’s only worth a thousand and after a couple of months have to put even more into it. So we will evaluate your car and give you an honest opinion on the value of the cost of repairs,” said Scott. Most repairs take less than a couple of days at AK according to Scott with the availability of parts being very good in Alaska. During the month of March Auto Knechtion has a special on an oil change for only $39.95 including a complete vehicle inspection free. AK guarantees all their work for 1 year or 12,000 miles. Stop by the shop or call 260-5444.
