Unwrap Soldotna winner announced at Tuesday Trivia night

Soldotna was un-wrapped in grand fashion this year according Melodie Allen, Soldotna Chamber of Commerce events coordinator. “We had more businesses participate this year and we feel that encouraged more shoppers to look and buy locally because every dollar spent in our local community rolls over and over again in making jobs and economy that improves our quality of life. As a former entrepreneur and restaurant owner I can attest to the benefit the program has and the fun it is for shoppers as well as business owners,” said Allen. Shoppers could enter as many times as they wished at each participating retailer with drawings for a $25.00 gift certificate from each store throughout the campaign, “Then at our Chamber Holiday social and trivia night we invited everyone in the public to come to Odie’s Deli and join us for a fun time and the grand prize drawing. We had a full house and Odie’s had to turn folks away and the winner of the $1000 Chamber Bucks was Clyde Johnson,” announced Melodie.

Ten teams responded to 9 rounds of clever Holiday trivia questions created by Trivia-master Rhonda McCormick and when the final round was completed and the last cookie crumb eaten, it was team “No Rag-rets” that came out with the highest score and took home the $123 cash prize. “It’s a lot of fun and no skill or knowledge is required you just have to a lot of useless information to prevail,” said Rag-rets team members Jeff & Jennifer and Megan & Manning.
