Last Frontier offers elegance for Brides & Grooms

The Kenai Peninsula is becoming a popular destination for more than those attired in hip waders and steel toed boots. Last year’s premier Peninsula Wedding Show at Kenai Catering was so popular Tosha Kelly of Bride & Groom magazine had to find a larger venue to accommodate the 2nd Annual event. Kelly has been working for Alaska Bride & Groom for eight years and at this year’s show presented 25 vendors including food trucks outside the Sterling Community Center, “They were a big draw this year and have become very trendy at our shows and we were excited to have them here on the Peninsula. We also had the Sterling Cake Lady, DJ’s, photographers, jewelers, health and beauty professionals and a variety of vendors like CBC Rentals that covered everything that any bride, groom, bridesmaids or flower girls would need for their special day,” Kelly told the Dispatch.

This year’s Wedding Show also featured a bridal fashion show featuring the reigning Miss Alaska Sweetheart Lillian Crayton from Eagle River. “We had two fabulous fashion shows arranged by the Bridal Boutique and Sedona Florist provided all the bouquets and floral head pieces. You can still those shows on our website at alaskabride.com or on our Facebook page,” said Kelly. The Sterling Community Center was transformed to a bride and groom wedding wonderland with honeymoon décor, elegant lighting and music by professional DJ’s, “Live bands are still great for weddings, especially if they are unique like a polka band, but DJ’s today are actually an important part of the wedding these days. Not only do they provide the music for your day but also act as an emcee working with you to keep you on schedule, letting you know when it’s time for your grand entrance or the father/daughter dance and are there to liven up the party after the reception dinner and are a great asset and stress reliever for the day,” she said.

Over 300 potential brides, grooms and families attended this year’s Wedding Show according to Kelly all of whom received gift packets and information, “There are wedding planners who can do it all for you and the Kenai Peninsula has become a popular and beautiful wedding destination with options from Cooper Landing to Kachemak Bay where there is a beautiful mansion in Homer that is a hot spot right now weddings as are helicopter weddings on glaciers, whatever you can imagine and afford can be done,” added Kelly.
