In a rural community like Soldotna it's a special occasion when a local son not only graduates from the nation's oldest military academy in the United States of America but was recruited to play football for the Army Black Knights.

While there are many things to do and places to go on the Kenai Peninsula, antique shops and/or flea markets are rarely among them. Until the outdoor Swank Street Antiques & Art Market made its debut in Soldotna the weekend of July 18th, that is.

The latest dinner show by the Triumvirate players, the Broadway smash "Guys & Dolls", opened last weekend at the Triumvirate Theatre in Nikiski. Ten years ago Joe Rizzo opened the first Triumvirate theatre and book store in the Peninsula Center Mall.
