Our
Daddy is the best. He takes us out to a magic bird’s nest in our
yard and we find candy! He gives us motorcycle rides. He loves us and
helps us, and sometimes we go out for dinner. On Mother’s Day we
go to Seward and out for ice cream. Our Daddy plays Go Fish with us in
the winter time. We love to see him each morning in his office and he’s
just a great daddy!

All About John
By Kirstin Meehan
John is my mom’s ex-boyfriend. John use to make me rootbeer floats
for me. He was a really awesone friend because he waas nice to me. He
also had an awesome collection of animal heads. Then he also had a really
cool collection of animal furs. John also make cool art pictures for me.
Also he was awesome because he got me almost everything I wanted. Another
thing he did for me was buy be a lot of art supplies for drawing. Also
he helped me with my art skills. One more thing he did for me was he never
gave up on me with I said I quit doing something.
My Dad
By Mary Pat Mills
These are some things about my dad. My dad plays basketball with me. My

My dad helps me with math he is Math Dad. My dad is going to take me fishing
this summer for the fun of it. My dad takes me clamming every year for
the yummy clams. My dad is going to take me duck hunting for the first
time this year. My dad keeps me in sports for exercise and health. My
dad coaches my soccer and basketball teams. My dad picks me up from swimming
every day that I go. Those are some things about my dad.
Why
my Poppa is simiply the greatest
My poppa lives well.
He sets the example on a daily basis. Instead of the baby pretzel twists
my momma gives me, my poppa gives me big girl, really grab a hold of,
sink my teeth into, pretzel rods. When I’m with my poppa ice cream
tastes better. It drips down my chin, runs through my fingers and if it
dries sticky then the experience is complete. Poppa believes that so long
as I’m dressed for the weather, it’s okay to wear my socks
outside my pants, my Boston Red Sox sun hat over my winter knit cap and
my rain boots with my winter coat. It’s not about how well we dress,
it’s the places we go and the people we see that matter.
My poppa laughs often. He affects my momma,
brother and me with laughter as well. I squeal with excited delight as
he chases me under the kitchen table, through the tunnel (loveseat against
the wall) to my safe base in my bedroom time and again. I know how to
put my chubby toddler hands to my mouth and grunt like a moose. Poppa
must think I’m pretty good too because he always laughs and asks
me to show him again, “What sound does a moose make?” Unlike
my usual nature walk (sled rides with my momma) poppa runs fast, pulling
me behind! He says, “The feeling you feel inside is adrenaline and
adrenaline is your friend!” The sled is just as fun running across
the grass. Although I am learning about manners from my momma, when I
let a stinker it’s my poppa that makes an impression. We play the
greatest game complete with a thumb on the top of our head, plug our nose,
put our hand over our mouth, say, “Excuse me,” make funny
faces, wave our hand, make grand pee-u noises, and laugh.
My poppa loves much. The way my poppa’s
face lights up when he sees me reveals my very special place in his heart.
Poppa always has good morning hugs and goodnight kisses with plenty of
laughter for joy, and comforts for hurts in between. My poppa gives me
the carefree spirit, courage and zest to live life. Who is my poppa? Gary
Duby, he is simply the greatest poppa and I love him unconditionally!
