The high schools should be consolidated, but needs to include 9th-12th grade. If more space is needed to keep the 4 grades, then an addition could be built onto Soldotna High School. The 7th and 8th grade is the transition between elementary and secondary education. Freshman year is the entry point to the beginning of an important growing period, especially in behavior. The experience would dramatically change if a freshman was at the top of middle school instead of the bottom of the traditional 4 year high school plan.
