Letter: Support helps air fair soar

Support helps Kenai Peninsula Air Fair soar

The Kenai Peninsula Air Fair Planning Committee for the Cities of Kenai and Soldotna would like to thank all the volunteers, sponsors and businesses who generously contributed to the event.

Mother Nature was on the pilot’s side and thirty-one pilots and passengers participated in the peninsula wide poker run. 2017 sponsors who donated the fantastic poker run prizes, were AOPA, ATP Medicine, Alaska Railroad, Alaska West Air, Barnstormer Aviation, Chena Hot Springs, Connie’s Flowers, Dan’s TV, Frames and Things, Grant Aviation, Home Depot, Knik Construction, Flats Bistro, St. Elias Brewing Co., Kenai River Brewing Co., RAVN Alaska, Spenard Builder’s Supply, Trinity Greenhouse, Trustworthy Hardware and Tustumena Smokehouse.

Thank you to the financial sponsors Hilcorp Alaska, Peninsula Aero Tech, Wince-Corthell-Bryson and Peninsula Ears, Nose and Throat. Without your generous support, this event would not be possible.

Special thank you to Hobo Jim, Mayor Brian Gabriel, Councilman Jim Glendening Matt Kelly, Rick Koch, local Experimental Aircraft Association, American Legion Post 20, Airgas, Jr. Civil Air Patrol, Kenai Senior Center, Kenai Chamber of Commerce, Kenai Police and Fire Departments, Missionary Aviation Repair Center (MARC), S &R Pumping, Copper River Seafood, for your donations, time, and work.

It was another great day on the Peninsula for aviation and appreciating our Military! Thank you to the 90th Squadron Raptor F22, USCG Air Station Kodiak, and the Commemorative Air Force Warbirds! These aircraft static displays add a very special element to our event allowing the community to view these aircraft up close and meet the crewman that fly them. Thank you for your service.

Save the date of June 9, 2018 for the 18th Kenai Peninsula Air Fair!
