On behalf of Soldotna High School and Soldotna Prep, we would like to thank the community for its support during our Homecoming Week. Our students showed amazing enthusiasm and school spirit throughout the week. They participated in over fifteen activities both during and after school. They ranged f...

Twenty-one children participated in Sterling Community Center’s K-6 Youth Basketball Camp in September. This camp was made possible by a grant from the Kenai Peninsula Foundation. Joshua Harshman was coach, assisted by Judah Harshman and Brian McCorison. The kids worked hard during the 3-day camp,...

The Kenai Peninsula Borough is facing a multitude of changes in the near future. An economic boom which will impact the lives we currently live here and influence the future of our children and grandchildren.

As a resident of the borough, as an employee of the borough, as a parent, as a taxpayer, as an outdoorsman, and as an individual concerned about my community I have great respect for the leadership that I have seen from Mike Navarre as our borough mayor. I have had the pleasure to work for the borou...

Incumbent Mayor Navarre, who claims to be a representative of the Kenai Peninsula residents, is not. In order to find monetary support for his campaign, big money, he went to Anchorage, to the Democratic Party, for serious partisan money. Now if he is truly representative of the Kenai Peninsula, why...

Many of you know me. I went to school in Kenai, starting in the first grade, and my parents lived in Kenai about a mile past Wildwood. Altogether, I have lived in Kenai and Soldotna in excess of 55 years. I worked on construction of the first platform in the Cook Inlet, the pipelines in North Kenai ...

In a democracy information is very important, especially in selecting the best candidates to represent us. It is very disappointing that candidate Bearup refused to participate in three face to face debates (two invitations from the League of Women Voters and one from KSRM radio). It is difficult to...
