The community of Ninilchik and Ducks Unlimited Alaska volunteers have suffered a great loss with the passing of Doug Blossom on October 10, 2013. A homestead era, well known resident, Doug was a fervent supporter of conservation and along with those beliefs, a strong Ducks Unlimited (DU) volu...

My career as a teacher who started SoHi in 1980 and Skyview in 1990 with 26 combined years at both schools compels me to respond to the needless discussion regarding changing school colors and mascots. Skyview High is closing, that is a certainty.

In the Nov. 10 issue of the Clarion this story line appeared: Southeast Alaska Program to release 200K fish at City Creek. These 200K fish will be chinook salmon with a hopeful return of 2-3 percent. 4,000 to 6,000 adult king salmon at a cost of only 100K startup and 15K annual operational expense. ...

It is long overdue that I take the time to compliment and to thank the folks at the Borough Road Service Area for their works and their efforts with regard to the neighborhoods involved in the Karluk area flooding these past two months. My first encounter with this borough department was with Carey ...
