Christmas is coming to Soldotna Creek Park

Christmas celebrations throughout the Kenai Peninsula continue this weekend with Soldotna’s Christmas in the Park on Saturday.

The event, which starts at 4:30 p.m., will fill Soldotna Creek Park with music, lights, snacks and more.

“We’ll open the event up with caroling,” said Andry Heuiser, the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce events and program coordinator. “We’ll have a choir there, the Kenai Peninsula Seniors, leading us.”

Following the caroling, Soldotna Creek Park will be filled with Christmas cheer, led by Master of Ceremonies Sen. Peter Micciche, R-Soldotna. Guests can stay warm with complimentary hot chocolate while enjoying the festivities.

“He’ll help bring out Santa and then we’ll light the tree,” Heuiser said. “And then everyone will get to spend some time with Santa.”

Christmas in the Park has been held in Soldotna Creek Park for the last few years, but has been hosted by the chamber “for many years,” Heuiser said.
