Walk, or roll, to school day

Roman, left, and Danni Finley bend the rules of Walk To School Day on Wednesday, Sept. 20 as they are carted to Redoubt Elementary along Redoubt Avenue in Soldotna. Soldtona Elementary, Soldotna Montessori and Redoubt Elementary each took part in the annual Walk Your Child to School day, an event that highlights the importance of getting to school safe. With dark mornings and afternoons in Alaska, it’s especially important to wear bright colors and be aware of surroundings as children are on their way to and from school.
