Homecoming activity support appreciated

On behalf of Soldotna High School, we would like to thank the community for their support during our homecoming. Our students showed enthusiasm and school spirit that was amazing. They participated in over twelve activities during the week. These ranged from traditional games like tug-of-war and “trash can” to games like Knight, Rider, Princess and Log Roll. We concluded our week with a pep assembly, the crowning of our royalty, a bonfire, football game, halftime show, and our Galaxy themed dance.

We would like to thank many who contributed to the memories that were created for our students: The Soldotna Sports Center for allowing us to use the facility for our bonfire; The City of Soldotna’s maintenance department with cleanup, Mr. Graham and Mr. Neill (our administration) for their support, Paul Wright and Kelly Martin for their assistance with sound and lighting, and the Soldotna High School cheerleading team for decorating the city and football field.

We also appreciate the invaluable assistance of Central Emergency Services, the Soldotna Police Department, and Alaska State Troopers. A huge thank you to the many students, staff, parents, and community members who donated their time helping to collect pallets, chaperone, and more. We would like to thank the following businesses for their support and contributions: Airport Equipment Rental, Davis Block, Odem/Coca Cola, and Sedona Floral.

I would personally like to thank our Student Council for the countless hours they volunteered to make decorations, set up for activities, create and cleanup the dance, and all the rest. Without you, the success of homecoming would not have been possible.

We, at Soldotna High School, cannot express our gratitude enough for all of the community members who assisted to create memories that will last a lifetime.
