Buccaneer announces second well

Buccaneer Energy announced Thursday that the company will begin drilling its second well in a week.

A Marathon Oil drill rig is scheduled to go to the Kenai Loop development site Aug. 22, with a well spudding that week.

The well will be drilled from the same drilling pad as the first Kenai Loop well, and should be about 1,800 feet from that original well.

Buccaneer’s announcement said that the company’s goal is to further explore the resources available in the Kenai Loop field and bring the well online as a second producer for its gas sales contract. The work is expected to take about 6 weeks, according to the announcement.
