Mayoral candidates file spending reports

Borough mayor candidate Mike Navarre has pulled ahead of all mayoral candidates in funds raised and spent.
The former borough mayor and state legislator has raised $37,068.62 and spent $32,577.18 on his campaign through Sept. 24, according to the seven-day report Navarre filed with the Alaska Public Offices Commission.
Former borough Mayor Dale Bagley has reported raising $24,710 and spending $22,763.90 on his campaign through the same period.
Former assembly member Debbie Brown has raised $19,738 and spent $19,425.45 through Sept. 27.
Gary Superman, a former assembly member and Nikiski resident, reported $7,595 in campaign income and $5,363.15 in expenses through Sept. 24.
Soldotna resident Fred Sturman declared raising $9,701.60 and spending $7,338.70 through Sept. 27.
Nikiski resident Tim O'Brien filed an exemption on July 27, meaning he doesn't plan to raise or spend more than $5,000 on his campaign.

Kenai sells bowling alley

After 11 months of receiving offers and holding negotiations, the Kenai City Council has sold the former AlaskaLanes Bowling Alley, a closed business located on the Kenai Spur Highway near the Three Bears grocery store, to Dean You for $450,000.
