NWS issues winter weather advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday for the Western Kenai Peninsula. The advisory includes Kenai, Soldotna, Homer and Cooper Landing. 

According to the advisory, the area is expected to get 3-8 inches of snow, with the highest amounts expected along the inlet and the Homer bluff. Snow will intensify this evening and continue through the overnight hours before tapering to scattered snow showers early Saturday morning. 

The advisory also called for travel difficulties, and to be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities in the areas affected.
