Kate Zimmerman laughs as she clears hair full of static electricity from her face Saturday after trying on a snowmachine helmet during a snowmachine safety course hosted by Safe Kids Kenai Peninsula. The annual event, held at Soldotna Middle School, provides an opportunity for youngsters to learn safe techniques for operating a snowmachine. Snowmachine helmets were offered at a discount to youngsters who participated.
