On Feb. 2, Heritage Place leadership was notified of an anonymous allegation of sexual abuse of a resident.
Heritage Place is a 60 bed, nursing facility owned and operated by Central Peninsula Hospital. It had served the Kenai Peninsula since 1986.
The allegation was reported to the Soldotna Police Department. CPH will cooperate with police to complete the investigation, said Bonnie Nichols, spokesperson.
According to Nichols, Heritage Place Administrator Charlie Franz has notified the State Department of Health and Social Services of the allegation as required by law. Staff throughout the organization also was notified.
CPH operational policies outline the correct procedure for staff to report real or suspected abuse of any vulnerable resident or patient.
“Any allegation of this nature is concerning to us,” Franz said in a press release. “We investigate all reports of suspicious activity to maintain the protection and safety of our residents and staff.”
Anyone with information regarding this allegation is asked to please contact the Soldotna Police at 262-4455.
