District counters unions' proposal

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Wednesday did not accept the joint Collective Bargaining Agreement proposal package from the two unions that represent the district’s teachers and staff. The unions introduced that package during Monday’s negotiation session that covered the entire contract between the district and staff. The district introduced a number of counter proposals Wednesday for the unions’ consideration in regards to some pieces of the contract. The district's proposals do not have an expiration date.

Negotiations are scheduled to resume around 1 p.m. this afternoon.
