Wolf withdraws from House race

Kelly J. Wolf announced Monday that he is withdrawing from the primary election for State House District 29, which includes the Kenai-Soldotna area.

Wolf said in a statement, "I feel that my running for state house and possible election to this state office position would cause conflict with at least two organizations which I'm involved with. Also realizing that my involvement with Youth Restoration Corps may be an ethical conflict for me as a state legislator, I'm unwilling to comprise my support for this organization and the good work it does with our youth in the community."

Wolf said that he continues to be concerned about the issues facing our state and community, but feels that his efforts working with youth and individuals with disabilities are more important.

Wolf represented the area in the House in 2003-04.

Incumbent Rep. Kurt Olson and current Assembly President Gary Knopp also have filed to run for the District 29 seat.
