Anchor Point man shot multiple times

An Anchor Point man was found dead early Sunday of apparent gunshot wounds. A friend found Demian Sagerser, 40, dead at his home north of Anchor Point near Stariski Creek about 12:30 a.m. July 8. Alaska State Troopers said a preliminary investigation showed Sagerser suffered several gunshot wounds. The Alaska Bureau of Investigation, Soldotna, is investigating the case as a homicide. Next of kin has been notified. An exact cause of death will be determined in an autopsy to be done by the Alaska State Medical Examiner’s Office. Troopers are releasing few details about the case. According to online court records, Sagerser was to report to Homer District Court this morning for trial call in a February 2011 assault and criminal trespassing case. Homer Police arrested Sagerser after an altercation with bouncers at the Alibi Bar on Pioneer Avenue. In that criminal complaint, police said Sagerser had several trespass notices against him and had had many contacts with law enforcement. Police said safety advisements in the Alaska Public Safety Information Network alleged Sagerser had made repeated threats to harm officers. Sagerser also has a long criminal history dating back to 1992, with multiple charges of assault, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and criminal trespassing.
