Cause of K-Beach fire unknown

Central Emergency Services investigators were unable to determine the cause of Monday’s structure fire in the Kalifornsky Beach area due to the amount of damage to the building.

In all, the fire destroyed a garage and an attached apartment and greenhouse, CES Safety Officer Brad Nelson said. No one was injured as a result.

The fire’s point of origin was the greenhouse, he said.

“It started near the greenhouse, but as far as figuring out what caused it, the devastation was too much,” Nelson said.

There is no evidence to suggest arson, he said.
