Marianne Clark holds an eagle chick Wednesday afternoon while waiting for Central Emergency Services to move their ladder truck into position so that the bird could be returned to the nest it fell out of last Friday at the Diamond M Ranch. Clark, a licensed migratory bird rehabilitator, took the chick to the Bird Treatment and Learning Center in Anchorage over the weekend where it was given a good bill of health.
The chick, at left, and its sibling shared a meal brought by a parent shortly the truck pulled away. “I’d say it was a success,” Clark said. Carrol Martin said this was the third year the birds built a nest and that they had troubles with it each year.
