ADF&G opens driftnetting on Friday

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game issued an emergency order opening drift gillnetting Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Citing an escapement rate of sockeye that may cause the Kenai and Kasilof rivers to go above their optimum escapement levels the department will fish the fleet in the expanded Kenai and expanded Kasilof sections.
