Alaska Bureau of Investigation Troopers and Anchorage Police today arrested a suspect in Anchorage for the death of Demian Sagerser, an Anchor Point man killed by multiple gunshot wounds on July 8.
Demarqus Deshean Green, 20, of Anchorage faces charges of second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and tampering with physical evidence.
According to a trooper press release, troopers and police arrested Green near his Anchorage home while serving a search warrant. Charges were filed at the Kenai Courthouse. Green was taken to the Anchorage Jail.
Early in the morning of July 8, a friend found Sagerser, 40, shot to death at Sagerser's home on David Avenue, a country road at Mile 149 Sterling Highway near Stariski and north of Anchor Point. Troopers said a preliminary investigation showed Sagerser suffered several gunshot wounds.
According to an online search of Alaska Court records, Green has no criminal history in Alaska. He was cited twice within the last two years for minor traffic violations, most recently in May for negligent driving in a citation filed in the Kenai Court.
This is a breaking story and no other details have been released by troopers.
