Central Emergency Services firefighter Jacob Ohms accepts a donation Friday afternoon from a motorist at the corner of the Sterling Highway and Binkley Street during the agency’s annual Fill the Boot fundraising campaign for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Firefighters and medics from CES work every Labor Day weekend to raise funds for the charitable organization. Due to a residential fire in Sterling, CES firefighters were not able to conduct its second day of Fill the Boot fundraiser on Saturday. “This is a good cause and CES has a long tradition of raising funds during this Labor Day weekend,” CES firefighters wrote in a press release. “We are asking anybody who would like to assist us in this quest, to bring donations to the fire station. We will be collecting until Friday, when we will present the check to MDA.”
