Photos: Workers and volunteers from Skyview High School unite for Labor Day picnic

Adella Huhtagaard, 2, jumps into the air with the help of her father, Owen Gaard, of Soldotna, as the two enjoy the musical stylings of “Dirty Dan” Monday at the Labor Day picnic sponsored by United Steelworkers Local Alaska local 4959 and Skyview High School in Soldotna. Gaard said his family were “big fans” of “Dirty Dan.” They attend the picnic because Gaard is a member of the United Steelworkers Union and he said the picnic was a “great event.” The picnic featured free food, live music and door prizes as part of the celebration of the Kenai Peninsula workforce.
