Man indicted for Three Bears burglary

Kenai police have accused a man of stealing more than $12,000 worth of tablets on Aug. 29 at about 8 p.m. from the Three Bears pharmacy in Kenai.

Jeffrey L. Earl Jr., of Kenai, has been charged with second-degree theft and second-degree burglary in connection with the incident. He also has been charged with second-, third- and fourth-degree misconduct involving  controlled substances.

Earl, 25, is accused of hiding next to the pharmacy until it closed, jumping over a counter top at the drop off window and stealing the drugs before leaving the same way he entered, according to a complaint and affidavit filed by a Kenai police officer.

According to the affidavit, the officer was shown a surveillance video which showed a male watching the pharmacy for about 30 minutes before walking into Three Bears and waiting for the pharmacy to close.

The man was seen opening the gate by the drop off window several times before climbing into the pharmacy for less than 10 minutes and leaving with a white bag, according to the complaint.

A state trooper, an investigator and a pharmacy employee all identified Earl after watching the video or seeing a driver’s license photo of him according to the affidavit.
