DOT to discuss progress on Cooper Landing highway project

The Alaska Department of Transportation will host an open public meeting today to discuss updates on the Sterling Highway mile post 45 to 60 project, also known as the Cooper Landing bypass.

The meeting is from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a presentation at 6 p.m. at the Cooper Landing Community Club on Bean Creek Road in Cooper Landing.

DOT staff will present information on the supplemental environmental impact statement process, the project’s status, the alternatives under consideration, proposed mitigation measures, and further action needed on the project.

A second meeting will be hosted Sept. 18 in the DOT conference room at 4111 Aviation Drive in Anchorage. That meeting is from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a presentation scheduled for 6 p.m.
