1,700 K-Beach homes lose power

Posted: September 15, 2012 - 7:23pm

Downed power lines knocked out power to 1,700 homes off of Kalifornsky Beach Road Saturday, said Joe Gallagher, Homer Electric Association spokesperson.

A tree fell on the power lines in the area of Mallard Drive at about 11:15 a.m., Gallagher said.

At 12:40 p.m. HEA crews responding to the incident restored power to 500 homes from Diamond M Ranch to the Red Diamond Center along Kalifornsky Beach Road.

By 4 p.m. HEA crews restored power to all homes that had lost power from the incident.

“Everything’s back up and running,” Gallagher said.
