Election results updated

The Kenai Peninsula Borough clerk’s office reported Monday that the Canvass Board has tallied the votes to date, including absentee ballots received. According to borough clerk Johni Blankenship, the only votes remaining to be counted are any ballots that are received in today’s mail that are postmarked on or before election day and have been properly completed.

In the two borough races too close to call last week, updated results show Kelly Wolf leading Mike Winegarden for the Borough Assembly District 1 — Kalifornsky seat, 232 votes to 225 votes, and school board District 8 — Homer incumbent Liz Downing leading Mike Illg 524 to 514.
