Head-on Spur Highway collision injures one

Alaska State Troopers and Central Emergency Services responded at about 10:20 a.m. this morning to a head-on collision at mile 3.5 of the Kenai Spur Highway.

Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said the highway will be closed for about an hour as responders clean up debris from the accident. Peters said one person had serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Peters did not have the names or conditions of other persons involved in the accident.

The two vehicles involved are a Ford F350 pickup and a Subaru Forester. The accident occured on Pickle Hill near Swallow Drive just outside of Kenai city limits.
